Chains and Pendants

Getting the Perfect Match

We have a wonderful selection of gold and silver chains, and we hope we have the right one fore you. If you are looking to a buy a chain to put a pendant on then here is a quick low-down on which chains work best.

Firstly its important to get a chain with symmetrical links. If, for example, you were to buy a Figaro necklace top hang a pendant on, then you will have to remember to hang the pendant from one of the 3 small links in a 3+1 Figaro design otherwise it will look a little lopsided with a couple of small links on one side, and the one large link on the other.

Belcher, Trace and Curb necklaces all work well with pendants. The weight of the pendant will help to shape the necklace into a natural V-shape which could complement a V-shape cut in a top, and can help to enhance your neckline. All these necklaces are fairly simple designs, and will not detract from the pendant you are wanting to hang on them.

Box necklaces tend to be shorter, and due to the way in which the links all link to one another, they will not form a V-shape described above. If you are looking to put beads on a necklace, then a box necklace, or mirror box necklace is ideal for this.

Remember to take into account the weight of the pendant you are wanting to hang before buying a necklace. If your pendant is too heavy (for example it is made out of glass) then it might risk breaking your necklace chain if you buy a really light necklace. Also really big pendants on very fine necklaces can look a little imbalanced. We would advice that you consult the weight of the chains you are interested in, and make sure that if you have a heavy pendant you want to hang on the chain, you buy a chain of proportionate size.

Don't worry though, if you buy your chain and you find that it doesn't suit the pendant you are wanting to hang on it, then so long as you notify us you can return your item for up to 21 days after buying it.
